A hot day in Kaliyug, a walk in the green, and of course any walk during Kaliyug is a walk through fire.

This song was a collaboration between the inimitable Oren Fisher and me. Oren also edited this collage video from open-source found footage:

The original chord progression came from a track Oren was sending me to test some audio compression options. I liked it, then went out walking on a blazing hot day. While wondering if I was getting heat exhaustion, I started singing some lyrics influenced by a lunchtime conversation. Oren and I bounced it back and forth from there, each adding a part at a time.

Each of us mixed our own final version - you can hear his audio edit with the same video. It was a pleasure to see how they took a distinct voice for each of us!

lyrics

i’m burning my way down a hall of green
The Dude abides, his remains to be seen
to see the remains one time when i go
from a pyre on the Ganges our asanas flow
our asanas flow from a Ganges pyre
it ends like beginning, and begins in fire

this hallway of green we light to fire
these remains abide beyond the pyre
this Dude with whom i shared a scene
this Ganges flows down a hall of green
remains begin, while our asanas flow
the green abides, and there i go
